Heather Ferguson is heard here in peak form awash in the elegant and mesmerizing sounds of saxophonist Barrie Sorensen and trumpeter Miguelito Valdes…The result is that the performance throughout the album is marvelously clean and the music itself can only be called luminous.

Short Bio
Heather Ferguson is a jazz-rooted vocalist and songwriter whose artistry has come into full bloom in mid-life, shaped by experience, discipline, and a deep commitment to craft. With a voice that balances elegance and emotional power, she brings energy and nuance to her songs, both those she writes herself and the jazz standards she loves to interpret. As a performer and recording artist, she is becoming a compelling presence within contemporary audiences.
Her growing catalogue includes two full-length albums and a series of stand-alone singles that have steadily resonated with listeners worldwide. Released in 2025, her second album FOUND reached nearly 400,000 Spotify streams, led by standout tracks such as “In My Solitude” and the original “Summer After All.” Her March 2026 release, “Broken Horned Kudu,” was recorded in South Africa and quickly surpassed 20,000 streams within its first two months, signalling continued momentum and audience engagement.
Ferguson’s music is a sophisticated blend of interpretation and storytelling, rooted in jazz tradition while remaining distinctly personal. Her upcoming projects—a 2026 EP, recorded in London and called “Jammin’ Under Jack”, will to be released over the summer. A third album of mainly original work and featuring her Victoria band is due in 2027. A new project slated for 2028 will focus on the work of Duke Ellington - all demonstrating a clear and ambitious artistic trajectory.
At the heart of Ferguson’s work is a powerful sense of reinvention, an artist coming fully into her own with clarity, confidence, and emotional depth. Her music reflects a life richly lived, bringing authenticity, sophistication, and vitality to every performance.
